AIX and SUN unix commands for hardware monitoring

Hello again,

I would like to know if the following commands:
diag, errpt, lscfg, lspv, lsvg, lsps, lslv for AIX and
prtdiag, psrinfo, sysdef for SUN are native to these systems or if they are in fact scripts that are added after the unix installation.

Thank you in advance.
Have a nice day

Hi,

Those commands are specific for those operating systems...
You may want to check here http://bhami.com/rosetta.html for a comparison between different command on some operating systems...

If I understand your question, you are asking if these 'scripts'
come with the OS.

Quickest way to check is to look at the OS documentation. For
example, Solaris documentation is available at

docs.sun.com

IBM documation is also available on line.

If the utility is not documentated there, it was probably added
to the system.

To answer your question more directly, yes, these commands ship with the OS software. That does not mean they all get installed by default but during a typical install they will exist.
