I am planning for System P with 2 number of 2-core processor (4 core in total).
Can I make 3 LPARS with this processor configuration without the support of micropartitioning, that means with simple LPAR only.

If you think pseries, please dont think core, think 'way' like IBM does and sells them on the smaller boxes. So if you have a 2-way-machine, you can create 2 lpars with 1 'cpu' each without micropartitioning of any kind. Or rather you can create as much lpars as you like but you can only run max 2 of them with 1 'cpu' each at the same time. 1 of these 'cpu's gives you than 2 lcpu's on your lpar = 2 threads in parallel.

i am not able to find the difference of CORE and WAY.
As my P6 550 specs says it is
2-core 4.2 GHz POWER6 Processor Card qty=2

Most likely your 550 is a 4way system - 2 processorcards with 2 cpus each - that would mean you have 4 cpus - that would mean you could create 3 lpars without micropartitioning - i.e. 1 cpu 1 cpu 2 cpu lpars ...
