VIO restore from NIM dosen't work
Hello guys

I have been trying to restore a VIO server from NIM using the nim_resource.tar file created from the same VIO lpar. The restoration goes fine and after 99% I get the following error

Code:
0516-304 putlvodm: Unable to find device id 000b5f62263b70a50000000000000000 in the Device Configuration Database.

Then the server reboot and stops at the below screen.

We had this exact same problem except instead of "putlvodm" ours said "mkvg". Come to find out it was because some how the disk configuration got messed up in our VGs. We were able to fix the problem by logging in as root after the box was up, removing all the non-rootvg VGs and disks, running cfgmgr to bring back the disks, and then using importvg to put them back into their volume groups. After that, we rebooted the box and it was able to boot without getting that error. Maybe that would work for you. The "putlvodm" seems to point toward a LVM error of some sorts.
