AIX

Hi again,

Got another question.
We have bought a Konica 7135 printer/scanner/copier.
I can succesfully create this printer in smit.
When i try to send a test job to the printer with the lp command it won't get through, Unix keeps saying running when I look at the queue with the lpstat command.

When I look at the cd that comes with the printer/copier/scanner there are some files located like:

Makefile
nic_print
nicprint.conf
nsconfig

Does anyone know if I should install these files, or copy them to a location?
And does anyone have any other experience with installing printer/copier/scanner on AIX?

What options did you choose for the printer. Supply a bit more information and I can help. I tend to avoid smit, as everything it does can be done via CLI.

I created the printer in smit like this:

smit print
add a print queue
HPJetdirect
Hewlett Packard
HP-LJ4+
Do not make this system a boot/tftp server

PCL --> prt038
Hostname of the Jetdirect card --> prt038

I can ping both on name (so the etc file is correct) and ip-adress.

This always seems to work, except for now.

If you need any other information, please let me know.
Although I'm not new to AIX, I never heard of CLI, but I supposse it is Command line installation?

Already fixed it myself

I had to create it as a remote printer instead of a hp jetdirect.
And the port nr. should be 1 instead of 9001.
