Smit logs

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to keep my smit logs in other directory diferent than the user's home.
I know with -l and -s you can change this settings but I'm wondering if there is any environment value that I can set.

It can be done using alias too ...

Thanx.

Hi.

The smit.log location is controled by the $HOME variable (not by the home directory shown in /etc/passwd.

I don't know that it's possible to change it (except by changing $HOME.

but changing root's $HOME may have unknown consecuences .......
I think I'll try an alias....

Yes, you're right, but I couldn't find another way to change it.

The alias is a fine option.
