Default route removed - what to do ?
Hi,

After accidental default route removal serial connection doesn't work.
What should I do to connect to my machine ?

Default gateway and serial terminal have nothing to do with each other. Or is it just a fact that your serial connect doesn't work?
If so, how do you know that it is just the default gw missing?

Anyway, can use fastpath smitty tcpip.

Also you can use chdev for example:

chdev -l inet0 -a route=0,<ipofyourdefaultgw>

Well I also thought so, and I removed default gateway while being connected through serial terminal - as soon I deleted route - serial terminal stopped immediately.

Maybe, as said, it is not really a serial connection. Do you have really a cable connected to that or is that a via a HMC or... maybe explain a bit of your cabled environment or maybe check yourself and you might notice (as I asume), that the terminal you are trying might not be directly connected via a serial line.

I was using DB9 null modem cable, connected to com port.

I assume you tried already to switchoff/switchon the box to see if you get your console back? You are not lucky enough to be attached to a hmc?

After running a script for Platform Patch, the default route is removed from netstat -nrv. The machine does not reboot after Platform Patch.
