P5 needs to boot in normal mode

Hi,

I do not get to boot an IBM P5 9131-52A in normal mode. I mean I want to get rid of the SMS menu, just an automatic boot to AIX.

I installed AIX 5L V5.3. diag give me this when I run "Normal Mode Bootlist | Display Current bootlist":

******************************
CURRENT BOOTLIST DEVICES FOR NORMAL MODE

The following devices are listed in the order they appear
in the normal mode bootlist.

hdisk0 blv=hd5 Unavailable Device

To continue, press Enter.

You might check whether /dev/ipldevice exists in your rootvg and that it is hard linked to /dev/rhdisk0.

Hi,

They seems hardlinks. Anyway I erased ipldevice and run "ln rhdisk0 ipldevice".

Reboot and ... it still does not work... Could it be something related to the firmware??

# ls -l ipldevice rhdisk0
crw------- 2 root system 22, 2 Mar 30 11:12 ipldevice
crw------- 2 root system 22, 2 Mar 30 11:12 rhdisk0

lscode:

DISPLAY MICROCODE LEVEL

The current permanent system firmware image is SF240_202
The current temporary system firmware image is SF240_338
The system is currently booted from the temporary firmware image.

Use Enter to continue.

Question:

May I rebuild this boot partition hd5? If yes: How?
