Hi,everyone

the situation is: at the very beginning ,through cfgmgr i find all LTO3 drives and 9840D drives. Then, some guy changed the device id(loop id) of all the stk drives on the tape lib panel. This time, i ran the cfgmgr but got nothing.

so i asked that guy to change the loop id back. Now i get all the 9840D drives but no LTO3.

i checked my zone and tape drive log but no errors. when the loop id was changed ,there are errpts on AIX server but i clear them up .

Hmmm. Well, kill that guy . And then call your IBM HW support, they must have those loop id and can configure them back.

If these are FC devices I'd recommend to rmdev -dl all (!) of the existing FC entries down to the physical FC adapter (slot) and run cfgmgr afterwards. Cfgmgr is not good in updating existing and/or changed FC devices. A clean and new run of cfgmgr in most cases works better. Search this forum for my posts explaining how to identify parent devices.

Non rootvg VG information depends on hdisk's PV ids and will not be influenced by hdisks changing positions. The tapes won't bother at all so give it a try.
