Little help with Command Line

I'm trying to move files between a certain date to another folder and I ran this command:

Code:
find . \( -newer startdate -a ! -newer enddate \) -exec mv /PATH/TO/DIR {} \;

However it's not working. Can anyone see where the error is in this script?

Code:
find . \( -newer [color=red]filename/color] -a ! -newer anotherfile \)

use filenames not dates, use touch -t YYYYMMDDHHmmss dummyfile to set a filetime on a temp junk file.

Hi Jim,

I first ran touch -t yymmddhhmm startdate then touch -t yymmddhhmm enddate.
Then I ran the command. Didn't work. I want to move the files another directory not rename them.

You have two files, dummy1 dummy2. These files ARE NOT meant to be moved. They are dummy files.

Code:
cd $HOME
touch -t 2009030812001015 /home/bbbngowc/dummy1
touch -t 2009030912001015 /home/bbbngowc/dummy2
cd /some_newdirectory
find . \ c -newer /home/bbbngowc/dummy1 -a ! -newer /home/bbbngowc/dummy2 \) \
     -type f |
while read filename
do
    mv $filename /PATH/TO/DIR/$(basename filename )
done
