UNIX problem? Unix programm runs windows 2000 CPU over 100%
Okee problems...!!
What is happening: Unix server with some programms, workstations are windows 2000, the workstations work good but when you start a programm on the Unix server the CPU of the workstations go to 100% usage resulting that the system gets very slow. The programm well its running so slow that it gives a lot of frustration around.
The workstations are PIII 800Mhz with 128 SDRAM
Does anyone have an idea of where the problem is???
Another thing that caught me notice is that even the disk cleaner reacts almost similair as the unix programm. The CPU gets also to 100% but it is very good to work with other programms at the same time.
I believe that the problem lies not at the workstations but somewhere between the UNIX system and the workstation or just on the UNIX server.
I have flashed the BIOS of the windows 2000 didn't work. So if there is someone around here who has the answer I would be gratefull.
greetings
zero

showaudio(1) General Commands Manual showaudio(1)
NAME
showaudio - Play an audio email message
SYNOPSIS
showaudio file-name(s)
DESCRIPTION
The showaudio program will allow a user on a properly-equipped workstation to listen to an audio message. It is intended to be called from
mailcap files, typically by the metamail(1) program.
At most sites, it will work by playing audio on the speaker of the user's computer. When used in conjunction with special hardware and
software not part of the metamail distribution, however, it can also deliver the audio information by telephone number. There are various
options to showaudio that support this feature, but they are not documented here since the functionality is not generally available.
SEE ALSO
audiocompose(1), audiosend(1), metamail(1)
BUGS
Currently plays audio only on Sun & Sony workstations.
