Here's a tip to help the paradigm shift... linux has no drive letters, it's one big directory tree. No "D:/", just "/". Partitions get grafted onto directories inside the root directory wherever you tell it to instead of appearing at arbitrary drive letters.

I cant seem to get this right.
Lets say I have root privileges and I wanted:
a ) edit the user prompt to show "linux1234$" whenever they log-in.
also
b ) Show a message for users upon logging in.

Hi I am facing problem of taking backup of file system as username1.
