They mentioned that an MS Office alternative is available on many of the distributions. You can actually try out OpenOffice.org on your Windows XP machine, which is one of the more popular office applications for Linux.

Hi,
I cant seem to get this right.
Lets say I have root privileges and I wanted:
a ) edit the user prompt to show "linux1234$" whenever they log-in.
also
b ) Show a message for users upon logging in.

Hi I am facing problem of taking backup of file system as username1.
There are some files in system which is having group ownership as nobody.
