You also can edit the .wmrc file if you are using vue desktop.
If you are using the CDE environment I think it is called .dtwmrc.

Also as mentioned all the files for cuistomizing the desktop are under .dt directory which appears in your (home dir).

Also the first section of the graphical help talks about customizing desktop, have a look there

Change Toolbar to Opt In?

Hey! I'm thinking we should change the toolbar to "opt in" and have it off for members by default? But then, the would not have toolbar access to the code tag videos, etc. so then I thought to make it "opt in" after say 30 posts. That way, the toolbar will show to all new users with less... DESCRIPTION

   Usage:
	      exo-desktop-item-edit [OPTION...] [FILE|FOLDER]

       -?, --help
	      Show help options

       --help-all
	      Show all help options

       --help-gtk
	      Show GTK+ Options

   Application Options:
       -c, --create-new
	      Create a new desktop file in the given directory

       -t, --type
	      Type of desktop file to create (Application or Link)

       --name Preset name when creating a desktop file

       --comment
