I have a question about the returning message of the mailx command.
if I run a mailx command, how can I know if the email has been sent to the email address? If the email address doesn't exist, is there any error message returned? If yes, how can I get the error message?

Is there any way i can verify the email address (before sending the mail) using the mailx command ?
I know that
sendmail -bv email@address.com
can do it but there is a compatibility issues with the version of Unix we have. So mailx is the only command we can used at this point.

I used to send mail from the hpux server directly to the customer id.

NAME
pthread_setschedprio() - sets scheduling priority of a thread
SYNOPSIS
PARAMETERS
thread The thread whose scheduling priority is to be set.
prio The new priority for the thread.
DESCRIPTION
The function sets the scheduling priority of thread to the value prio. If the function fails, the scheduling priority of the target thread
is not changed.
RETURN VALUE
Upon successful completion, returns zero. Otherwise, an error number is returned to indicate the error (the variable is not set).
ERRORS
If any of the following occur, the function returns the corresponding error number:
The value of prio is invalid for the scheduling policy of the specified thread.
The implementation does not allow the application to modify the priority
to the value specified.
