Telnet Server
Good day,
We have recently purchased an HP Compaq t5000 thin client and installed this as a management console. It runs Windows CE 5.0 as we required Internet Explorer for the managemenet of the one server (Web based management only working in Internet Explorer).
We have now also installed some additional servers which we would like to access with SSH using this thin client. Unfortunately we have been unable to find an SSH client that will actually run on the unit. (It does not have ActiveSync so cannot remotely install anything) It took me three hours and several emails to Microsoft South Africa to explain to them what SSH is - they have never heard of it.
It does have a Telnet client so I figured the next step would be to use Telnet to access the remote server and then SSH from the telnet session to the same machine. This is where the problems came in. I cannot get the Telnet server up and running.
I'm using SuSE 9.3 Pro and have installed the Telnet server RPM and configured /etc/xinit.d/telnet but still I cannot connect to the Telnet server.
Can anyone please assist me in this matter.
Albert
