This will just send output of ls command to that terminal.
What if I need to transfer output of all the command to the terminal.
ie. I want to associate the STDOUT with other termial.

Hi,
I would like to list files: ls *.hdf
But I would like a copy of the output directed to the screen, but also APPENDED to a text file: test.txt
I have tried:
ls *.hdf | tee test.txt

My requiement is to redirect output and error of sftp to a file.I have gone through few solutions given in this forum and got the alternate solution but not the one i want.

I am studying APUE(advanced programming in the unix environment). I have read up to chapter19 pseudo terminal. I know that the pty is like a fake device for programs to direct STDIN and STDOUT to. DESCRIPTION
This package provides the most primitive commands for sending characters to a terminal. They are in essence convenient wrappers around the
builtin command puts.
::term::send::wrch chan str
Send the text str to the channel specified by the handle chan. In contrast to the builtin command puts this command does not termi-
nate the string with a line terminator. It also forces an flush of Tcl internal and OS buffers to ensure that the characters are
processed immediately.
::term::send::wr str
This convenience command is like ::term::send::wrch, except that the destination channel is fixed to stdout.
