ok, so i want to figure out what type of UNIX i have and in this book im reading about it, it says that i can figure out what type i have by typing the command uname in the prompt. As in Windows we have Video memory and we can access it through C programs, do we have anything similar to that in Unix and similar operating systems. If we have some sort of Video memory in Unix flavours, then how can we access it through C programs. (4 Replies)

A different kind of counting in SQL

I am looking to do a count on a database table where some of the elements count double. Say the data is as follows: id value 1 X 2 Y 3 X 4 X 5 Y A regular count (SELECT value, COUNT(*) FROM data GROUP BY value) would yield: X 3 Y 2 However, Y happens to count double so the answer should... What kind of hacking is going on here??

Connecting to the Internet with OpenVPN, the connection fails. Rerunning openvpn works second time round but the install is hacked at that point (e.g., a rogue 'java-security' update tries to install itself on 'yum update', yum however spots this and rejects the download, other basic things start... hi, i am working on sco unix 5.07, i have 10 individual servers networked locally in which sco os is installed. one of them is not transferring the file to other servers but accepting all files. means Server (A) can accept the file through FTP from any server but not transferring FTP its own... FBReader is an e-book reader. It supports most open e-book formats, and can read compressed e-book archives. For more information on using the program, see the "About FBReader" button on its toolbar. OPTIONS
-zlui ui-type Try to start FBReader with the specified uu type. Supported ui types are gtk (to use Gtk+ library), qt (Qt 3 library) and qt4 (Qt 4 library). ui-specific options Standard options from the UI library you use (Gtk+, Qt3 or Qt4). -lang language Language for user interface.
