Error Unix Spooler - Hp deskjet

W eare currently running a Unix printer spooler and HP Deskjet printers. We are trying to set up a printer on the spooler server, but are getting connection errors. While we are able to ping and telnet to the relevant HP printer, we cannot set them up. Response: -

The HP JetDirect Printer Installer for Unix can ping the device.
The problem may be:
* incorrect GET community name!
* it is not a network printer!
* other.

These printers are being set up over the internet. Firewalls are allowing access and ISP caanot see any routing or port issues.

Please help!

:confused: Everytime our UNIXWARE 7 Server is restarted we also have to restart the spooler. If the spooler is not restarted, print jobs get stuck in the queu. printers.conf - printer configuration file for cups DESCRIPTION
The printers.conf file defines the local printers that are available. It is normally located in the /etc/cups directory and is generated automatically by the cupsd(8) program when printers are added or deleted. Each line in the file can be a configuration directive, a blank line, or a comment. Comment lines start with the # character. DIRECTIVES
