Hi. I have a kornshell script that runs on a daily basis as a cron job. Part of what the script does is copy the folder contents from another server to the current server (server where KSH script is running).
I have a scp command, as follows:

How do you test the physical network connection of an interface in solaris. I know that if you have an active connection and the cable gets yanked, you can look in the messages file to check for link failure messages. But is there any better way to see if you have good layer 2 connectivity? (1 Reply)

I have a box that has to start dhcpd when a certain connection is down and stop the dhcpd when the connection is up again. I would appriciate any help making this script:
From server A:
ping server B
if connection is ok then do nothing
if connection is not ok then start dhcpd

I would like to know if anyone has a way to PRINT TO a printer attached to a Windows 7 PC, from SCO, while logged in via a VPN connection.
I am able to attach to a Samba share on the SCO server for files while attached to the VPN, so I know my Samba is workling - but my print jobs return:

I have a script that does db query in postgres. I'm trying to put in some error checking in the script. I keep running into the password prompt problem where when invalid credentials/or database is put it, it would prompt me for a password which hangs the script. Is there a way that I can check for... timedsetup(8) System Manager's Manual timedsetup(8) NAME
timedsetup - Performs initial setup of the time server daemon (timed). SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/timedsetup DESCRIPTION
The timedsetup command is an interactive script that can be used to perform initial time service configuration for your system. By default, timed does not start at boot time. The timedsetup script asks if you want the timed daemon to be started at boot time, and prompts you for any options to pass to the timed daemon whenever it is invoked. The script then starts the timed daemon. For more information on the timed options, see the timed(8) reference page. Note The timed daemon is provided for compatibility. Tru64 UNIX also provides support for the Network Time Protocol (NTP) through the xntpd daemon. Compaq recommends you use NTP for time synchronization. If your system is configured to run NTP, the timedsetup command passes the -E and -M options to the timed daemon by default. If you plan to run both the timed daemon and NTP, you should configure NTP first. RESTRICTIONS
In configurations with two or more hosts each connected to the same two or more subnetworks, only one of the host can run the timed with the -M option. FILES
