Hi all,
I am trying to zgrep / grep list of files so that it displays only the matching filename:line number and does not display the whole line, like:
(echo "1.txt";echo "2.txt") | xargs zgrep -no STRING
If I use -o option, it displays the matching STRING and if not used, displays the... (3 Replies)
I’m trying to modify someone perl script to fix a bug. The piece of code checks that the zone name you want to add is unique. However, when the code runs, it finds a partial match using grep, and decides it already exists, so the “create” command exits.
$cstatus = `${ZADM} list -vic | grep... (3 Replies)
Hello, this is probably a simple request but I've been toying with it for a while.

Hi,
I have files in a directory with filenames that match three specific patterns:
1) *'.L2_LAC'*
2) *'.L2_LAC_OC'*
3) *'.L2_LAC_SST'*
I would like to have an "ls" command that will list only files matching the first two patterns. However, if I type: ls *'.L2_LAC'* I will get files that... (2 Replies)
Hey guys,
I have a file with an ID which I'm using to grep out the original record from another file. Problem is I have special characters in the original file, and grep is returning only a partial record. How can I get around this?
Appreciate your help!

I am attempting to grep an exact string from a series of files within a directory and append that output to the filename when it is present in the file. I've been after this all day with no luck. Thanks for your help in advance :wall:. (4 Replies)

In the awk below I am trying to cp and paste each matching line in f2 to $3 in f1 if $2 of f1 is in the line in f2 somewhere. There will always be a match (usually more then 1) and my actual data is much larger (several hundreds of lines) in both f1 and f2. When the line in f2 is pasted to $3 in... (4 Replies)

mysql_free_result
MYSQL_FREE_RESULT(3) 1 MYSQL_FREE_RESULT(3)mysql_free_result - Free result memorySYNOPSIS
Warning
This extension is deprecated as of PHP 5.5.0, and will be removed in the future. Instead, the MySQLi or PDO_MySQL extension should
be used. See also MySQL: choosing an API guide and related FAQ for more information. Alternatives to this function include:
omysqli_free_result(3)
oAssign the value of
NULL to the PDO object, or PDOStatement::closeCursor
bool mysql_free_result (resource $result)
DESCRIPTION mysql_free_result(3) will free all memory associated with the result identifier $result.
mysql_free_result(3) only needs to be called if you are concerned about how much memory is being used for queries that return large result
sets. All associated result memory is automatically freed at the end of the script's execution.
o $
result -The result resource that is being evaluated. This result comes from a call to mysql_query(3).
Returns TRUE on success or FALSE on failure.
If a non-resource is used for the $result, an error of level E_WARNING will be emitted. It's worth noting that mysql_query(3) only returns
a resource for SELECT, SHOW, EXPLAIN, and DESCRIBE queries.
Example #1
A mysql_free_result(3) example
<?php
$result = mysql_query("SELECT id,email FROM people WHERE id = '42'");
if (!$result) {
echo 'Could not run query: ' . mysql_error();
exit;
}
/* Use the result, assuming we're done with it afterwards */
$row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result);
/* Now we free up the result and continue on with our script */
mysql_free_result($result);
echo $row['id'];
echo $row['email'];
?>
Note
For backward compatibility, the following deprecated alias may be used: mysql_freeresult(3)mysql_query(3), is_resource(3).
