Question on printing
Thanks for the response Just Ice. Someone else is responisble for the UNIX server, I can't access it. Maybe I can ask another way?
Is it possible to print from a UNIX server to a public IP address with a specific port forwarded to a network printer??? If so, we could probably manage. The UNIX guys have been dragging their feet, but surely something like this is possible? If I know it is, I can go to them with a little more ammo.
Thanks.

$HOME/.gtklp/
Just put an empty file with the name of the printer the user should see by default to accept, put an empty file with the name of the
printer the user should never see to deny.
The accept values can be overwritten by the user, the deny values can't.

If you can`t connect to an X-Server, GtkLPQ acts as console-lpq.
If called as lpq, enable, disable, accept, or reject, GtkLPQ acts on console like these tools and has some other command-line parameters,
see above.
