try
mailx -s "<etc etc process not running>"
yourID@yourdomain.xxx < /dev/null
Change yourID and yourdomain.xxx to your userid and domain name.

Hi Experts,
I am facing one problem here which is one process always stuck in running state which causes the other similar process to sleep state . This causes my system in hanged state.
On doing cat /proc/<pid>wchan showing the "__init_begin" in the output.

DESCRIPTION
The mailto.conf file defines the local mail server and email notification preferences for CUPS.
Each line in the file can be a configuration directive, a blank line, or a comment. Comment lines start with the # character.
