search and Replace
hello,
How to search a Word in a shell file and if that exists echo that the word exists and stop that operation and if that doesn't exists then echo word not found.

I have a script which has several occurences of statement like
command: $UCMDPATH/xyz abc
I would like to replace the entire line starting from $UCMDPATH with the ls -ltr command
eg:
Prior to change::
command: $UCMDPATH/xyz abc
After change:

I am editing a config file in vi that has a / on it.
At the moment, search and replace looks alright as am able to use a # as a temporary separator, i.e. :,$s#/u01/app#/u02/app#g

is_readable - Tells whether a file exists and is readable
SYNOPSIS
bool is_readable (string $filename)
DESCRIPTION
Tells whether a file exists and is readable.
PARAMETERS
o $filename
- Path to the file.
RETURN VALUES
Returns TRUE if the file or directory specified by $filename exists and is readable, FALSE otherwise.
EXAMPLES

if (is_readable($filename)) {
echo 'The file is readable';

echo 'The file is not readable';

Upon failure, an E_WARNING is emitted.

Keep in mind that PHP may be accessing the file as the user id that the web server runs as (often 'nobody'). Safe mode limitations are not

Tip
As of PHP 5.0.0, this function can also be used with some URL wrappers. Refer to "Supported Protocols and Wrappers" to determine

Note
The check is done using the real UID/GID instead of the effective one.
This function may return TRUE for directories. Use is_dir(3) to distinguish file and directory.
