not able to execute .profile /.kshrc
Hi,
I m new to Solaris CDE...earlier i was using Windows.
Here is my problem..
i know that whatever the initial settings we need to execute,we can place them in .profile file.
in my home dir (/home/venki),i have following files for that.
.profile
.profile.user
.kshrc
.kshrc.user
and in .profile & .kshrc, its mentioned that dont edit this file..instaed use .user file..
so,i understand that .user is my private and should use that..
which file i should use for my settings ?(.kshrc.user/.profile.user) ?do i need to replace user by my userid?(eg. .profile.venki)
my login shell is KORN.
and the main problem i m facing is i m not able to execute .profile.user/.kshrc.user
( i given execute permission)..
i m getting the err message as below.
$. .profile.user
/usr/dt/bin/.: permission denied.
Can anybody pls help me out.
Thanks in advance,
Venki..

SYNOPSIS
rpccp remove profile profile-entry-name [-s syntax]
