This seems like a very generic question. Do you have something specific you are looking for, a situation you aren't sure how to handle?
Programmers usually need the System Administrator to configure system parameters for 3rd party database servers (/etc/system) and to configure filesystem or disks for use by the application. Most of the applications should be run by a userid other than root (although this isn't always the case). System Administrators and programmers usually work together to get the server running at the best possible for what they have. Monitoring applications and log files by both will help them understand what may be needed in the future as far as hardware requirements.

install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system
SYNOPSIS
install-solaris
install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation:
For SPARC machines:
128 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
128 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
384 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
For x86 machines:
256 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
256 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
512 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea-
tures available.
