well,
the maximum/biggest v880 you can get is:
8 x 1200Mhz UIII
64GB Memory
146,8GB HDD x 6 = 880GB
+ expantion kit 6x147,8GB
880+880=1760GB (also internal)

i would prefer the 3510FC cause it is a really a fast storage... if you only need max capasity you could take a 3511 SATA... on both there is a way to expand the storage with a second tray (up to five extra trays on one controller) ... thats around 16TB with a 3511. i have a costumer who's using a 3511 with 2 contoller and 5 expantions... and it works great ;-)
