My source file is in Unix Binary formated but I need to be convert in Ascii on Unix, Don't have idea on UnixtoDos or DostoUnix? pls help me out.

Here is what I did . . . . I FTP'd several *.pdf files from a web site to a UNIX server, and did not set the transfer mode to BIN, now Adobe thinks that the documents are corrupted. I need to read a binary file. I know for example in byte number 3801-3804 there is a 4 byte number embeded. Is there a way to extract this number from this file and then convert it to ascii via unix??

i hav tried to convert binary 2D data into text using binreader and writing into text file using streamwriter.
i use ReadSingle() function to convert from binary to ascii, although it works good in 1D data but not in more dimensions.
the kind of values i get are
-1.265369923E+038

Basically we have ASCII file with numeric data we want to convert that files data to Packed decimal format to send it to main frame.

dba_fetch - Fetch data specified by key
SYNOPSIS
string dba_fetch (string $key, resource $handle)
DESCRIPTION
string dba_fetch (string $key, int $skip, resource $handle)
dba_fetch(3) fetches the data specified by $key from the database specified with $handle.
PARAMETERS
o $key
- The key the data is specified by.
Note
When working with inifiles this function accepts arrays as keys where index 0 is the group and index 1 is the value name.
See: dba_key_split(3).
o $skip
- The number of key-value pairs to ignore when using cdb databases. This value is ignored for all other databases which do not
support multiple keys with the same name.
o $handle
- The database handler, returned by dba_open(3) or dba_popen(3).
RETURN VALUES
Returns the associated string if the key/data pair is found, FALSE otherwise.
