minor issue on question that i had posted !!
to the moderators of this site...
i posted a question several weeks ago about a egep -e if you look through my posts you will see that my question was fully plausible as a reasonable post that could have been answered even it was to say that I should search the man pages myself and find the answer.. I was completely confused at the time and did not know why the command did not work. infact I searched through everything trying to find the answer... only to find that nobody was ready to approach the subject matter either so i gave up.. take into the consideration that I am still quite a newbie and did not know that this command exists --help since it is so easy to overlook... I have been trying to figure out the answer to this question for weeks now and just finally found the answer by accident.. on fedora the egrep -e file1 file2 works with a -f flag and this i did not know.. at the time i asked my question I gave my version and linux flavor and still no one answered i tried to make a habit of keeping that information on my posts only to be insulted by someone who shall remain nameless since he is probably half my age... i have asked many questions since then have found that my questions tend to be overlooked more and more everytime that I post one.. if my approach to unix is not proper then please say so since I am confused about what I have done... . i am very serious about learning unix and have no money to go to school at the moment take any real hardcore courses which I would ace.... and also I read books, thats all I do is read and read and understand whatever I can.. so if i seem a little green compared to some of the other students all that I can is that I am probably more serious about unix that most of the unix population on this forum.. my father has been in the business (in major ways for over 28years, my two younger brothers both have their own companies one deals with software and the other with webhosting, and they are both very successful.. so I am probably correct in my assumptions about my concourse with unix.. i have made it my life long project and choice of career and will probably be doing precisely what I am doing with unix 20 years from now as I am doing now and for the last year.. to make a long story short.. if i don't have the internet communication skills that most of your students have and can't post how can learn if the rules of the forum are not sufficient enough to gain respect from thiose of you who have the skills and abilities to either make or brake my chances of learning something constructive from this forum...
