Heres the line for root in etc/passwd "root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash"
As far as the Autostart there don't seem to be nothing listed in the directory here's the listing from Konsole
"linux:~/.kde/Autostart # dir
total 4

There are no options to change on the login screen as far as I know KDE 3.2 is the only thing that it can load.

I have create a new user with uid and gid as 0 in SuSE-11 Server. After that all the files having root owner ship are showing as new user name as owner. If I login as root, and type 'id' command, it also shows the new user.

We forgot the root password on SuSE version 10 server. Since I didn't have SuSE DVD, I started the server using Redhat. I updated /etc/shadow and removed the root password.
I then started the server and I still can't login using root. Any idea?
