It's possible, but there are a few things though:
[list=1][*]You will have to specify an extension, and even if you want to save the document in RTF, it will still be encoded in a TXT format.[*]Such tools like the horizontal and vertical rulers, directory browser, XML and RSS error views, document trees, etc., haven't been added yet.[*]Right now, it is just a simple lightweight program. KewlWrite is supposed to be like an office suite.[/list=1]
Data can still be saved, however.
I will not release any of the source code until I have enough features added.

SYNOPSIS
apertium-desrtf [ <input file> [ <output file> ] ]
DESCRIPTION
apertium-desrtf is an RTF format processor. Data should be passed through this processor before being piped to lt-proc. The program takes
input in the form of an RTF document and produces output suitable for processing with lt-proc. RTF commands and other format information
are enclosed in brackets so that lt-proc treats them as whitespace between words.
OPTIONS
-h, --help
Display this help.
EXAMPLE
You could write the following to show how the input document is analysed:
cat <input.rtf> | apertium-desrtf | lt-proc ca-es.automorf.bin
