I used... man cp, man mount
and others...

Writen documentation is limited. My impression is that the process is so trivial that it doesn't require significant comment in documentation.

I have tride several different command formats, as stated in man mount, but no success and its not clear why. I suspect my error is basic. You would think this would fall into the class of "Intro to DEC Unix" but I haven't found it.

Suse Floppy not available

HI, I installed Suse 8.1 on an Emachine with a Cyrix processor equivelent to Pentium II. The dmesg reveals that the floppy was recognised, and there is an icon on the desktop for it, but when I trey to access it, it is not available. mount floppy, to be sure

Hi there, I never touch a AIX because i'm used to work on FreeBSD. I'll have to copy some file from a floppy to an AIX. Just to be sure is the mount command the same ? I mean a simple mount /dev/fd0 /floppy should work ? Thanks :) (1 Reply)

mount_efs -- Mount an SGI EFS file system SYNOPSIS
mount_efs [-o options] special node DESCRIPTION
The mount_efs command attaches an EFS file system special device on to the file system tree at the point node. Both special and node are converted to absolute paths before use. This command is normally executed by mount(8) at boot time. The options are as follows: -o Options are specified with a -o flag followed by a comma-separated string of options. See the mount(8) man page for possible options and their meanings. SEE ALSO

The mount_efs utility first appeared in NetBSD 5.0. BUGS
Write support is not presently implemented. EFS file systems are limited to 8 gigabytes in size. Because of EFS limitations, an EFS file system can't be used with any UID or GID greater than 65535. BSD
