I've made the basic tests and it passed...
Maybe this lock script - that uses only shell scripting - no files nor database tables are used - interests someone else...

P.S. - if you'd like to test it, you just have to embed it in any test script you want... but put it as the first script block in the code
But I'm sending a full test script, with the testing script in its end...
Remember that you can test this running the script in background (using & added in the end of the command line) or using addition shells.

script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
