Question am a unix newbie

well, I need a complete walk through on this to get the machine to run.....it is asking for prompts and I don't know what to tell it at all.

I have never messed with unix before so I have no clue...it is all text.....and also I would like to get solaris 8 offa there and install redhat lunix on it instead.....<free computer so why not??>

The OS is installed and partitioned, I think it is asking for passwords....but I have to fire up my other computer and actuall type in what it is saying.

I hope people don't mind me here, because for a lot of people I realize this is so easy and probably boring.

So I am going to get off here and fire up the other machines and then I can tell you what it is saying.

thank you
