I had a similar problem on my Ultra 5 while installing Solaris 9. I copied the second CD to disk and ran the install program from there. I can't remember the name of the install program/script, but I think it was pretty obvious. The problem I was having was the installer was looking for a CD label of something like Sol_9_Sparc but the CD created from the ISO I downloaded from Sun had a label of something like Sol_902_Sparc. I just copied the CD to a directory named "Sol_9_Sparc" and it worked. You should be getting similar errors if you are having the same problem and it should tell you the correct label, I am just guessing since I can't remember.

Dear All,
I installed the Solaris 2.10 (05/09) download on a Sparc platform, and wanted to configure the network time protocol daemon (xNTPD) to work as an NTP client.
Of course there are many web sites that trumpet the advise to simply copy the ntp.client file to the ntp.conf file, and then... (2 Replies)

I have been running some tests with solaris mpxio, dual-pathed to HDS SAN storage.
When I take a path offline, Solaris recognised this and a path is shown as offline in luxadm display <device>. However, it does not recover on reinstatement of the path until I run cfgadm -al.
Any ideas?
