Provided that you previously did a chdir() into this directory, the lstat will work. But look at the definition of the statbuf structure. You can't use a %s to display statbuf.st_size.

./xyz/hij.txt
I want an output as below

SYNOPSIS
gnomevfs-ls URI
DESCRIPTION
gnomevfs-ls displays a directory listing of a URI location.
OPERANDS
The following operands are supported:
URI Specifies the location of the virtual directory in standard URI format.
EXAMPLES
Example 1: Listing the Directory Contents of the System Root Directory
example% gnomevfs-ls file:///
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

EXIT STATUS
