This message means that the host name could not be resolved,
This can mean that the hostname is unknown in you DMS system, or you did not configure your DNS (on this box) in a correct manner.
Or when you are not using DNS, the hostname is unknown in host /etc/host table.

If I use the "Mail" link instead of the "mail" link to ../mailx I get this error.

Unknown command: "postmaster"
The email still goes through but i get the error.
If I use "mail" it goes thru without the error.

I was using SunOS 5.6. I have used the mailx command in below fashion

Hi all,
When I tried to use mailx like mailx -s "test" someone@somedomain.com < myfile , mailx replies with "me": not a group. Mail did get sent though.
So how to deal with this "me": not a group response. I guess it is because some property was not set properly. Because mailx worked well... (0 Replies)

One of them is successfully sending mails using mail commands
the 2 others are not , when i try to send using mail or mailx , i get this message within few seconds
drop_privileges: setuid(0) succeeded (when it should not)

i am using mailx command and i need to check if the email is send or not.
mailx -s "Sub A" -a "ACB SD.txt" abc@ab

from - Shows whom mail messages are from
SYNOPSIS
from [-s sender] [user]
The from command prints out the mail header lines in your mailbox file.
OPTIONS
Prints headers for mail sent by sender. Specifies a mail spool directory.
Use this flag if you want to examine a mailbox in a directory other than /usr/spool/mail, which is the system default.

If user is specified, then user's mailbox is examined instead of your own.

To display the message headings in your mailbox, enter: from
