searchd -- socket server handling search requests backed by Sphinx
SYNOPSIS
searchd [--config CONFIGFILE] [--cpustats] [--iostats] [--index INDEX] [--port PORT]
searchd --status [--config CONFIGFILE] [--pidfile PIDFILE]
searchd --stop [--config CONFIGFILE] [--pidfile PIDFILE]
DESCRIPTION
Sphinx is a collection of programs that aim to provide high quality fulltext search. searchd answers search requests coming in on a socket.
This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page. Instead, it has docu-
mentation in HTML format, see below.
OPTIONS
These programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is
included below. For a complete description, see the HTML documentation.
--config Specify an alternate configuration file to use.
--cpustats
Provide per-query CPU stats in searchd log.
--iostats Provide per-query I/O stats in searchd log.
-h --help
Show summary of options.
--pidfile Used with --status and --stop to find the correct searchd.
--status Print status variables of a running searchd.
--stop Send SIGTERM to a running searchd.
SEE ALSO

Sphinx and it's programs are documented fully by the Spinx reference manual available in /usr/share/doc/sphinxsearch.
