I see a couple of potential issues with this approach.
I still don't understand why you can't use the usual paradigm of passing vars with -v to awk and have to use this somewhat convoluted approach.
Any chance you can attach a sample file?

When i perform make or make mytag the script is again executed with the output:

SYNOPSIS

METHODS
Beyond the methods documented below, this class inherits methods from the RDF::Trine::Iterator::Bindings class.
"new ( @results, @names, %args )"
Returns a new materialized bindings interator. Results must be a reference to an array containing individual results.
"reset"
Returns the iterator to its starting position.
"next"
Returns the next item in the iterator.
"length"
Returns the number of elements in the iterator.
