Hi
I understand that the question is purely academic.
But if we consider the practical application, then this command is completely redundant.
I wanted you to know that just in case.
But I can also assume that you need to find only the names of the files containing the search string. --- Post updated at 09:57 ---
If at the end put +
then the "grep" command will immediately process all the files found by the "find" command,
and will not process each individually.
I also thought you had an error in the file name pattern, I fixed

Hello,
I'm working on unix with grep (GNU grep) 2.5.1. I'm going through some of the newer regex syntax using Regular Expression Reference - Advanced Syntax a guide.
ls -aLl /bin | grep "\(x\)"
Which works, just highlights 'x' where ever, when ever.
I'm trying to to get (?:) to work but... (4 Replies)

I am trying to dig through about 100 directories that have 1 or 2 .jpg images stored in each. I want to copy the .jpg to another file in the root directory. Really my ultimate goal is not to have to dig down into each directory to copy the images individually. I thought I could use a... (2 Replies)

Locale::Codes::LangFam - standard codes for language extension identification
SYNOPSIS
use Locale::Codes::LangFam;
$lext = code2langfam('apa'); # $lext gets 'Apache languages'
$code = langfam2code('Apache languages'); # $code gets 'apa'
@codes = all_langfam_codes();
@names = all_langfam_names();
DESCRIPTION
The "Locale::Codes::LangFam" module provides access to standard codes used for identifying language families, such as those as defined in
ISO 639-5.
Most of the routines take an optional additional argument which specifies the code set to use. If not specified, the default ISO 639-5
language family codes will be used.
SUPPORTED CODE SETS
There are several different code sets you can use for identifying language families. A code set may be specified using either a name, or a
constant that is automatically exported by this module.
For example, the two are equivalent:
$lext = code2langfam('apa','alpha');
$lext = code2langfam('apa',LOCALE_LANGFAM_ALPHA);
The codesets currently supported are:
alpha
This is the set of three-letter (lowercase) codes from ISO 639-5 such as 'apa' for Apache languages.
This is the default code set.

Locale::Codes::LangFam::add_langfam_code_alias ( CODE ,NEW_CODE [,CODESET] )

These routines are all documented in the Locale::Codes::API man page.
