That is a typo in this forum. It's (correct) like the below and the salt command doesn't run but the echo running is working fine. I've tried with #!/bin/sh also. The same salt command works fine on the (interactive) shell (command line).
I cannot find anyone who has used the salt commands inside a shell script. If you do find any, please post it here. Appreciate it.

It works the way I want it to, but it's not... (1 Reply)

shishi_as_derive_salt(3) shishi shishi_as_derive_salt(3)NAME
shishi_as_derive_salt - API function
SYNOPSIS
#include <shishi.h>
int shishi_as_derive_salt(Shishi * handle, Shishi_asn1 asreq, Shishi_asn1 asrep, char ** salt, size_t * saltlen);
ARGUMENTS
Shishi * handle
shishi handle as allocated by shishi_init().
Shishi_asn1 asreq
input AS-REQ variable.
Shishi_asn1 asrep
input AS-REP variable.
char ** salt
newly allocated output array with salt.
size_t * saltlen
holds actual size of output array with salt.
DESCRIPTION
Derive the salt that should be used when deriving a key via shishi_string_to_key() for an AS exchange. Currently this searches for PA-DATA
of type SHISHI_PA_PW_SALT in the AS-REP and returns it if found, otherwise the salt is derived from the client name and realm in AS-REQ.
RETURN VALUE
Returns SHISHI_OK iff successful.
