I don't have a cd-rom, but i do have a a few USB 3.0 inputs and after a call to IBM the route I went with was to create a USB MKSYSB (mksysb -iev /dev/usbms0), was able to restore the rootvg using this method.

goodafternoon people.
here are a couple of error messages I get during restore of mksysb from a AIX F80 to a F50. I have verified blocksize and have set them to 1024 which matches both the systems.
backup system is F80 and restore system is F50. Both are 4.3.3 ML10 level

I have a large number of backup tapes which were originally written with the AIX "backup" command. I now need to convert these to "tar" format, but unfortunately I no longer have access to an AIX machine. I have been able to connect the old tape drive (3590) to a Linux box and it works... Pretty penny's.
Just remember that mksysb and savevg are just front-ends for backup.
In other words, backups on AIX are organized by volume groups. mksysb is specialized for rootvg and savevg is used for other volume groups.
Ignoring that rootvg also creates files needed to boot a system... (1 Reply)

This class encapsulates a USB Device endpoint and the methods that object would support.

Device::USB:DevEndpoint provides a Perl object for accessing an endpoint of an interface of a USB device using the libusb library.

DESCRIPTION
This module defines a Perl object that represents the data associated with a USB interface endpoint. The object provides read-only access

There are several accessor methods that return data from the interface. Each is named after the field that they return. These accessors

wMaxPacketSize
bInterval
bRefresh
bSynchAddress
DIAGNOSTICS
This is an explanation of the diagnostic and error messages this module can generate.
DEPENDENCIES
This module depends on the Carp, Inline and Inline::C modules, as well as the strict and warnings pragmas. Obviously, libusb must be
available since that is the entire reason for the module's existence.
