I've some existing scripts wherein am using ftp + .netrc. I've defined my macros in .netrc file.
I want to switch to sftp now but it seems it doesn't support macros and .netrc and it gives "command invalid" error.
Is there any other alternative?

I need to transfer the files from the Remote server using SFTP. While i transfer the file, the time stamp of the file need not to be changed. Ineed to transfer the file as without change in its time stamp.

Is there any way I can pass -f with rm command in sftp? If I use it it treats -f as a file name to be removed.

NAME
jds-help - launch a Help browser based on the GConf ghelp URL handler
SYNOPSIS
jds-help [URL] [gnome-std-options]
DESCRIPTION
jds-help launches a Help browser based on the GConf ghelp URL handler.
The GConf key for the handler is /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/ghelp/command. Typical values for this key are:
yelp "%s"
jdshelp "%s"
If a URL is specified, jds-help displays the topic referenced by the URL. The URL must be a ghelp URL.
If no URL is specified, jds-help displays a default document as implemented by the specified Help browser. By default, both jdshelp and
yelp display a collection of most of the installed documents.
OPTIONS
The following options are supported:
gnome-std-optionStandard options available for use with most GNOME applications. See gnome-std-options(5) for more information.
OPERANDS
The following operands are supported:
URL Uniform Resource Locator, the location of a Help topic.
EXAMPLES
Example 1: Opening the gedit Online Help
