Some may feel like Firefox's blocking and anti-tracking features are good, but I can assure you, as a very experienced web developer, that the Firefox browser causes many basic Javascript functions to break and it is very difficult to disable the bad things that Firefox does in the name of "privacy". I can block and set up whitelists very easily on Chrome and Safari, but trying to get Firefox to work correctly and consistently is very difficult. This is why Firefox is not supported and I will not support web development for Firefox until this situation with Firefox changes.

So, if you use Firefox because you are worried about "privacy" and wish to block features by default which are difficult to configure, by all means use Firefox. But if you want to get the full features of UNIX.COM today and the future, you need a browser which supports modern web standards consistently and Javascript. So, the best solution for diehard Firefox users is to browse the web with Firefox but browse these forums with Chrome or Firefox.

We do not support Firefox. This is based on day-to-day web development and the fact that Firefox breaks things, blocks standard Javascript functions; and I simply do not have the time or the energy to spend my time coding "Firefox workarounds". I am sorry.

Install Chrome or Safari and browse UNIX.COM.

It takes about two minutes to install Chrome or Safari on your system, and there is no reason to restrict yourself to browsing with only one browser.
