Hi Please help me to refine my syntax. I want to delete the excess characters from the out put below.

4.4% us
now i want to delete the % and us. How wil i do that to make it just 4.4.

I've a csv file seperated by '|' from which I'm trying to remove the excess '|' characters more than the existing fields. My CSV looks like as below.

While I do know some control characters need to be escaped, can normal characters also be escaped and still work the same way? Basically I do not know all control characters that have a special meaning, for example, ?, ., % have a meaning and have to be escaped... (11 Replies)

For example if there's the todays' date:

and we only want to keep the last 2 characters which are the day.

DESCRIPTION
Creates a spot color from the current fill color. The fill color must be defined in rgb, cmyk or gray colorspace. The spot color name can
be an arbitrary name. A spot color can be set as any color with ps_setcolor(3). When the document is not printed but displayed by an post-
script viewer the given color in the specified color space is use.
PARAMETERS
o $psdoc
- Resource identifier of the postscript file as returned by ps_new(3).
o $name
- Name of the spot color, e.g. Pantone 5565.
RETURN VALUES
The id of the new spot color or 0 in case of an error.
