Operating Systems Solaris Help with Reviving a NETRA240 Pls? Post 303026800 by ozsavran on Monday 3rd of December 2018 12:32:52 PM

Thanks for all your encouragement and direction. I had never laid hands on an actual Sun machine before. We just had Solaris x86 and couple of books. That visit was to encourage us to develop something with Java or Solaris actually. I did the very first Oracle e-trade web application in Turkey at the time, and some factory-dealer web order system using Perl and PgSQL. Thanks to freemasons they gave the first big customer business we developed to their own cohorts, naturally. That business was not growing fast enough, so I sold out and made a big organic farm in my beautiful home town. Never felt sorry for that. IT industry is a sales-only, piss-dirty game in backwater countries like this. No real need for engineers like us. Smilie

Yes you were indeed lucky if you got away with only 1 stent and a serious diet. You must have caught it before any cardiac arrest. Stents are not a permanent solution, but after 60, the heart develops new arteries that supplant blocked ones.

It is indeed very very good for our health both that we still play with something like computers. Smilie But 50 years in the industry is really incredible, my hat is off to you. Hope you got real fair value for your companies.

setreuid(2)							System Calls Manual						       setreuid(2)

NAME
setreuid - Sets real and effective user IDs SYNOPSIS
#include <unistd.h> setreuid( uid_t ruid, uid_t euid ); STANDARDS
Interfaces documented on this reference page conform to industry standards as follows: setreuid: XPG4-UNIX Refer to the standards(5) reference page for more information about industry standards and associated tags. PARAMETERS
Specifies the new real user ID. Specifies the new effective user ID. DESCRIPTION
The setreuid() function sets the real and effective user IDs of the current process to the values specified by the ruid and euid parame- ters. If ruid or euid is -1, the corresponding effective or real user ID of the current process is not changed. Users may change the effective user ID to the real user ID; only processes with superuser privilege may make other changes. This task is normally done by the system's authentication program (for example, login), but is not done for system daemons. RETURN VALUES
Upon successful completion, a value of 0 (zero) is returned. Otherwise, a value of -1 is returned and errno is set to indicate the error. ERRORS
The setreuid() function sets errno to the specified values for the following conditions: The value of the ruid or euid parameter is invalid or out of range. The current process is not the superuser and a change other than changing the effective user ID to the real user ID was specified. RELATED INFORMATION
