Operating Systems Solaris Any hope for this bootlooping Sun V210? Post 303026775 by hicksd8 on Monday 3rd of December 2018 08:22:22 AM

I agree with gull04 that since you've re-seated most things and you still have the same problem then it could be something stupid.

From your post, this worries me:
Quote:
DEC 01 18:59:31 : 0004000e: "SC Request to Power Off Host Immediately."
So where is that coming from? Perhaps some button stuck in on the front panel? Key switch stuck? Or something like that is where I'd be looking.

V210 to V440

I recently acquired a server for home use. Currently, I'm running a V210. I was wondering of a way to basically swap hard drives into the V440. I would like to avoid reinstall on the V440 for many reasons. Currently on the V440, when I try to boot up it forces itself into System Maintenance... (1 Reply)

V210 to V440

I'm currently trying to move a perfectly find harddrive from a V210 to a V440. From what I can tell, the disk labeling a bit different, (V210 is c1t0d0 and V440 is c0t0d0). My question is, what all do I have to change to get the V440 to boot off of this with very little complications. Right now, it... (21 Replies)

NAME
x_buttontest - Xview demonstration and test program for SunButtons SYNOPSIS
/usr/demo/BUTTONBOX/x_buttontest DESCRIPTION
x_buttontest is an Xview application that displays a window with thirty two buttons, corresponding to those on the SunButtons buttonbox. To determine if the buttonbox has been set up correctly, select the Diagnostic button on the panel. If the buttonbox is functional and cor- rectly interfaced, each of the buttons will light in sequence for about 1 second. Then "OK." is sent to the standard output of the demo program. x_buttontest is now in its (default) interactive mode. Pressing a button on the buttonbox highlights the corresponding button on the screen. Additionally, x_buttontest sends a BDIOBUTLITE ioctl to the buttonbox in response to each key press and key release, so that the button light is illuminated while the button is held down. If the serial communications become confused, as can happen when both the buttonbox and the dialbox are operated at the same time, one or more button lights may remain on after the button is released. Clicking on the Reset button on the panel will unconditionally turn all the button lights off. ATTRIBUTES
