Hi Guys,
I've read this discussion with interest. My one comment is that, AFAIR, the default ALOM userid/password combination for this series of SPARC is either admin/changeme or, on later models, root/changeme
And, yes, the means of resetting the ALOM password is to install Solaris (or boot a 'live' DVD) and use 'scadm' command.
Without successfully logging into the ALOM it won't let you do much.

I recently acquired a server for home use. Currently, I'm running a V210. I was wondering of a way to basically swap hard drives into the V440.
I would like to avoid reinstall on the V440 for many reasons.

I'm currently trying to move a perfectly find harddrive from a V210 to a V440. From what I can tell, the disk labeling a bit different, (V210 is c1t0d0 and V440 is c0t0d0). Hey,
I have a V210 with a failed CPU fan.
The temperature is currently at 84C and I've been asked to wait a few weeks before replacing as its a production system and it cant be shut down yet.
Is it too hot? Do I risk killing the CPU at this temp?

NAME
asadmin-list-admin-objects, list-admin-objects - gets all the administered objects
SYNOPSIS
list-admin-objects --user admin_user [--password admin_password] [--host localhost] [--port 4848] [--secure|-s] [--passwordfile filename]
[--terse=false] [--echo=false] [--interactive=true]
Lists all the administered objects. This command is supported in remote mode only.
OPTIONS
--user authorized domain application server administrative username.
--password password to administer the domain application server.
--host machine name where the domain application server is running.
--port port number of the domain application server listening for administration requests.
--secure if true, uses SSL/TLS to communicate with the domain application server.
--passwordfile file containing the domain application server password.
--terse indicates that any output data must be very concise, typically avoiding human-friendly sentences and favoring well-
formatted data for consumption by a script. Default is false.
--echo setting to true will echo the command line statement on the standard output. Default is false.
--interactive if set to true (default), only the required password options are prompted.
