Thank you for that help - I found the setting in the printer and now I have the listing printed out. I'm going to compare to the VM and see if I can get anywhere. I really appreciate all the help from everyone! Thanks!

Now I have another thought that may be the final step I need. I remembered there was a floppy disk that was called "Menu Control" for the legacy software that we run in the unix box, and it had to be installed for the system to work properly. I actually still have the floppy disk, and I'm trying to mount it in the physical system to see what is on it and if I can copy it over to the VM and run it. There seems to be something wrong with my physical system and the floppy drive, because I cannot get it to work. Here is what I have tried:
Code:
mount /dev/fd0 /mnt

and
Code:
mount /dev/fd0135ds18 /mnt

The error to both of those commands is "cannot stat (dev)". So then I tried this:
Code:
dtype /dev/fd0135ds18

and the error there is "I/O error". I have tried two different floppy drives, ran a cleaning disk on both, and still the same results. Is there any way to get the floppy drive working so I can see/transfer the files? Thanks
P.S. the floppy drive light comes on each time, just no good results.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but with each step of progress I make a new challenge arises. I seem to recall this being a hallmark of unix. Anyway, I now believe that I have the floppy mounted in the physical machine and when I do an "ls" there is just one file called "install".

When I tried to copy this file to a /tmp directory it said I needed to specify either -r or -R to "copy directory install" This poses two questions in my mind:

1. If I copy it, which switch should I use, -r or -R?
2. If I copy it, and then ftp over to the VM, will there be a way for me to run the "install"?

Any help on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

volcheck [-v] [-i secs] [-t secs] pathname DESCRIPTION

The following options are supported: -i secs Set the frequency of device checking to secs seconds. The default is 2 seconds. The minimum frequency is 1 second. -t secs Check the named device(s) for the next secs seconds. The maximum number of seconds allowed is 28800, which is 8 hours. The fre- quency of checking is specified by -i. There is no default total time. -v Verbose. OPERANDS
The following operands are supported: pathname The path name of a media device. EXAMPLES
Example 1 A sample of the volcheck command. The following example example% volcheck -v /dev/diskette /dev/diskette has media asks volume management to examine the floppy drive for new media. The following example example% volcheck -i 2 -t 600 /dev/diskette1 & asks volume management if there is a floppy in the floppy drive every 2 seconds for 600 seconds (10 minutes). FILES

eject(1), rmmount(1M), attributes(5) WARNINGS
Due to a hardware limitation in many floppy drives, the act of checking for media causes mechanical action in the floppy drive. Continu- ous polling of the floppy drive will cause the drive to wear out. It is recommended that polling the drive only be performed during periods of high use. SunOS 5.11 28 Feb 2007 volcheck(1)
