The Lounge What is on Your Mind? New Code Tags (Syntax Highlighting) Post 303019679 by Neo on Tuesday 3rd of July 2018 11:50:43 PM

A lot of code works fine on the mobile site which does not work on the legacy (main) site, because the mobile site does not use any HTML <table> tags and only uses <div> tags.

For example. the scrollbars work perfectly fine on the mobile site.

So, I may enable the "plain" (not color or syntax highlighted) new SyntaxHighlighter on the mobile site and see how it works.

Also, instead of spending time trying to covert the existing legacy site which uses <table> tags to <div> tags, I'm thinking I will just convert more legacy pages to <div> tags on the mobile site; and keep building out that site.

Then, maybe someday, we can merge the mobile site and the main site together; but there are so many many pages on the legacy (main) site which uses these obsolete <table> tags, that is will take a long time to move all the plugins and pages to <div> only and so the site would be totally merged (mobile and desktop) and responsive to all form factors.

I'm thinking what is the best way ahead; but my focus will be changes to the mobile site.

You can use the mobile site on the desktop by setting styleid=137

Code:
https://www.unix.com/?styleid=137

and you can go back the the original legacy site:

Code:
https://www.unix.com/?styleid=38

NAME
XmDropSiteRegister -- A Drag and Drop function that identifies a drop site and assigns resources that specify its behavior SYNOPSIS
#include <Xm/DragDrop.h> void XmDropSiteRegister( Widget widget, ArgList arglist, Cardinal argcount); DESCRIPTION
XmDropSiteRegister identifies the specified widget or gadget as a drop site and sets resource values that define the drop site's behavior. The routine assigns default values to any resources that are not specified in the argument list. The toolkit generates a warning message if a drop site is registered with XmNdropSiteActivity set to XmDROP_SITE_ACTIVE and the XmNdropProc resource is NULL. If the drop site is a descendant of a widget that is registered as a drop site, the XmNdropSiteType resource of the ancestor drop site must be specified as XmDROP_SITE_COMPOSITE. The ancestor must be registered before the descendant. The drop site is stacked above all other sib- ling drop sites already registered. widget Specifies the ID of the widget to be registered. arglist Specifies the argument list. argcount Specifies the number of attribute/value pairs in the argument list (arglist). For a complete definition of DropSite and its associated resources, see XmDropSite(3). RELATED
