I'd like some help with awk too.
Somewhere in my bash script i have written something like this:
awk -v outputfile=$finalFile -v inputf=$file 'BEGIN { commands }
{ more commands }
ΕND{ }' inputf
where the file is a .input file with data.

I have a shell script with the following awk command.

when I run it manually command line its fine and giving the output.
bash-3.00$ awk '$1 == "GEOG_SRV"{split($2,a,":");print a}' /etc/qm

Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1). AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like @include getopt.awk in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
